Keep the Republic

A blog dedicated to expressing faith in God, hope in America, and a conviction to preserve the principles on which the nation was founded. Benjamin Franklin, after the conclusion of the Constitutional Convention, was asked by a concerned citizen of Philadelphia what type of government had been created after four months of closed-door meetings by the delegates; he responded, "A republic, if you can keep it."

His spokesman has announced that Dick Clark will miss the New Year's Eve telecast from Times Square this year due to the stroke he suffered last week. Subbing for Clark? Regis Philbin.

It has become clear to me that the left in America has tolerance for only one viewpoint: their own. They attempted to overturn the election in Ohio and give Kerry the victory on baseless accusations through the court system. They have recently attacked the use of the Declaration of Independence because it mentions "the Creator." This type of behavior is precisely why they were crushed on election day, but they have learned nothing. They think that by "refining" their definitions on moral issues they can reclaim a solid voting base. In that respect, they again show their arrogance by assuming that the voting public will be fooled by their ploy, and they can continue rolling back the precious freedoms that my grandfather fought a war to protect. No, the only thing that the left has any tolerance for is the left. By the way, great blog, Hal. Keep it up!
