Keep the Republic

A blog dedicated to expressing faith in God, hope in America, and a conviction to preserve the principles on which the nation was founded. Benjamin Franklin, after the conclusion of the Constitutional Convention, was asked by a concerned citizen of Philadelphia what type of government had been created after four months of closed-door meetings by the delegates; he responded, "A republic, if you can keep it."

Vote!

It's more than a privilege, it's a responsibility. Be civic-minded, educate yourself, and vote. Too much blood has been shed by brave patriots willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to preserve that right for us to take it for granted. This is one of the most remarkable days in our republic, where the people have been given the opportunity to determine who their leaders will be for the next term. It happens (relatively) peacefully, and millions of people around the globe would exchange places with any American in an instant because of the freedoms we have. For the sake of our children, in honor of those who have sacrificed, and in respect of those who don't have the privilege, vote.
